It's a good thing you're cute. You don't need to know how to count any higher than that.

Bob are you still mad that we kicked your ass at DWD?
Lauren Hmm that sounds like a good idea I might have to take you up on that idea this year!

Re: Boston marathon tips
Refreshing this thread...
So I'm reading my booklet and seeing that spectators aren't allowed in the Athlete's Village. Makes sense. But do I "have to" stay there until I go to the corral? Chris mentioned that the port-a-potties close to the start are line-free, so I'm curious if you can just hang out around there and meet up with the corral later? (Of course, I'll hang in the Village for a while, but I'd like to see the family and stuff, too.)

no you don't have to stay there. you can wander all around town if you like or just play musical port-o-potties.

Re: Boston marathon tips
Here's another question on Athlete's village - is it possible to find anyone such as you guys to wish good luck to before the race?

Not a very sociable bunch here, I see. Is there no gathering to break bread on Saturday evening in the works? Hmmmm. Not a very sociable bunch here, I see.

I asked that same question on the last page. I'm game for a pre/post gathering.

There are so many runners that your chance of running into someone is possible but not likely. I've found that the majority of your time in athletes village is spent standing in line for the porta potties. You need to either plan to ride to the starting line with a group, have a designated meeting spot or coordinate by phone. Beware if you take your phone and place it in your drop bag. You should place it in a pocket or wrap it in some clothing so it doesn't fall out of the bag.
Your plans should also take into account which starting wave you're in.

Re: Boston marathon tips
I'm meeting a big group of runners at the athletes village. I'll try and describe where we meet in case anyone else wants to huddle up.
So if you're standing at the announcement stage (or where the guy has the mic - it's towards the back on the right field when walking into athlete's village). So standing at the announcement stage facing the crowd. There's a white tent in front/right of Mic guy. My group meets next to the white tent basically straight in front of the Mic guy. There's about 25-30 of us.
As for other gatherings, I have family and friends stuff so I'm a bit booked up.

John - I'm in your wave. My typical AV hang out spot is near home plate of the baseball field (right of microphone guy and when looking at him).

Re: Boston marathon tips
My Village hangout will likely be dropping some things in my bag at the last possible minute and a little bit of wandering around. But I'll probably spend most my time outside of it so I can be with friends/family.
Another question: if you want to park in the South St. lot and shuttle over, what time should you get there by?
