I had to groan when I saw the old and slow remark, too....YIKES!

Cool stuff - now if only Chris would start a freaking blog and share his successes with us we might actually get to be half the runner he is!Dave-O wrote:Thursday: I met Chris this morning to join him on his last Boston training run, which was 6 miles with 4 at goal pace. No joke, Chris was smoother at 6:45 pace than I was. We now know that the scorching conditions thwarted his PR attempt, but rest assured the fitness is there. He has the rest of 2012 to prove it.
That is pretty strong coming from you and has to be a great sign...Dave-O wrote:I’ve never felt that good at that pace in my life.
Certainly not!Dave-O wrote:if I fail to PR in 21 days, it won’t due to a lack of aerobic endurance.

Re: Buck-O-Nine
So...I've been quite awful at updating this thing, huh? Thankfully it hasn't been for lack of training. I've nailed the last two weeks exactly as planned. Two weeks ago I ran 80 miles, capped off with my win at the Home Team 10k. Last week, I logged 62 miles, with workouts of 3 x 1 mile in 5:06, 5:02, and 5:00 and 2 x 3 miles in 16:13 and 15:57. After a quick trip to the Bahamas for a wedding, this last taper week has been uneventful - which is nice.
I fly out to Pittsburgh tomorrow, where I'll meet up with Chris and his buddy Scott. The weather looks good (low of 58, high of 72, no wind). I have spent some time working on my race plan factoring in some minor hills. In sum, I'm ready to go.
Hopefully next time I post I'll have good news to report.

I'll see you Saturday, my man. Relax and have a good flight. We'll have some fun out there on Sunday on the course.
