Re: Active Shoes....
I feel better that I'm only in the middle in terms of shoe madness....plenty of you are way crazier than me (well, at least Dave is):
Brooks Launch - my favorite daily training shoe. This is pair #2 and I love them. I did not like my Brooks ST Racer 4s and retired them early so it just goes to show that you need to try lots of different models by the same company
Adidas Adizero Adios - I want to like these shoes but they've never grown on me. I'm so used to the Lunar Racers that I just feel more comfortable doing speed work and some tempos in those instead of the Adidas ones. Its a nice light shoe but not the one I feel best in.
INOV X-Talon 212 and F-Lite 230s - my trail shoes. Had to get the X-Talons with the much more cleated bottom because the F-Lites are useless if the ground is soft and wet. But if its a dry day, I go with the 230s
Nike Lunar Elite - eh. I'm not wild about these and don't reach for them very often
Nike Lunar Fly - love them. my go to shoe for recovery runs.
Asics Gel DS-Racer - My other daily training shoe along with the Brooks ones. I don't hate these. Don't love them; don't hate them. How's that for a lukewarm review?
Nike Lunar Trainers - goofy looking all white shoes that look like boat or tennis shoes. They've been in the back of my car for a year as my emergency shoe. I'm going to bring them on vacation next week, use them like crazy and then toss them.
6 pairs of Lunar Racers - still have 2 original 1s which are for track work only; two pair of 2s still left one of which I'll use for another race or two - those are 2s in my avatar pic; one pair of version 3 (which is really just 1 redone) which are my current race shoe along with one pair of the Nike Lunar Racer Vengence which I used for my last two marathons

Re: Active Shoes....
NB 905-solid shoe for just about any workout
Asics DS Trainer-good long run shoe; 2nd pair I've gone through
Saucony Tangent-2nd favorite training shoe I've ever worn (#1 is Mizuno Elixir)
Nike Free Run-just use this one for recovery runs
Adidas Adizero Ace-just a few miles on these; mostly will be used for tempo/intervals
Mizuno Musha 2-great lightweight racing shoe
Mizuno Ronin 2-even better lightweight racing shoe that can be used for everyday running if you wanted to
For whatever reason, I hit the magical 400 mile mark on most shoes and they start trashing my quads on runs of more than about 8 miles. Weird.
