Like the change. Tough standards. Never run it before. Maybe I'll have to do it in 2012 while I still qualify. The new standards get closer to my PRs with not a lot of room for error.

Glad I age up and glad I'm running this year as I figured it just might happen.

Glad I qualified and ran last year under the old standards. I'll have to pick up a slight PR to qualify next time.

It's a little bit surprising to me that NYC did this. They've had a relatively tough time attracting faster runners. I guess they just wanted to keep up with Boston because of the Yankees vs. Red Sox mindset.

Hmm, I guess that means I have to run 1:27:46 instead of 1:30. That's definitely possible. Although, with two young children, I don't know why I'd bring them them to NYC for a marathon.

I wonder if the Red Sox nation would pay me to run the race wearing a 'Jeter Sucks' and "Which has more fat, CC or a tub of lard?" shirt and cap.

Interesting. It's easier to qualify for Boston than NY.
If I ever want to run NY again after this year I better get much faster (3:06). Or, the 1/2 marathon may be more doable.

I'm glad I'll get in under the lottery system one way or another - cuz I'm never going to run that fast to qualify.

A lot tougher...like you Randy, I need a 3:30 for Boston and a 3:06 for NY.
It'll either be the lottery or 9+1 if I ever plan on doing NY again.
