In how many months of the year have you run marathons?

Post  Diego on Wed Aug 03, 2011 5:58 pm

I've only run 14 marathons but covered 8 months of the year, with March, May, June, and July left.

How many have bagged all 12?

Bonus points for also competing on February 29th.

What did you run in July? The summer is such a tough time to run a marathon. Congrats to you!

Grandfather Mountain on 7/12, then a 50K 8 days later in Dallas... at midnight... with strep throat... where I blacked out after the finish from dehydration. Good times.

fun times. Thanks for adding which ones you've run. I have run Pensacola and Lincoln out of the ones you have. I have to put in a good word for Eisenhower Marathon in Abilene KS since you're not too far away. Small marathon and such friendly people hosting it. Probably one of my favorites.

Post  charles on Thu Aug 04, 2011 12:54 pm

I went back and edited my list to add the cities/marathon and I realized that my four worst marathons have all come in the same month - OCTOBER. October should be a great month for marathons but in all four marathons I had lousy weather. Terrible, hot humid conditions. My PR came in November ...

Re: In how many months of the year have you run marathons?

Post  Mike MacLellan on Thu Aug 04, 2011 1:46 pm

Oct - Long Beach International
May - Orange County

Will be running a trail marathon late Sept, a 34-miler in Oct, and a 50 in Dec, so I will get to add 2 to the list Very Happy Plus my training runs will start being 26.2+ miles, so add August and November to that list, too. (The question was "run," not "race," after all...)
