Re: Boston Marathon 2015
So...I have a ton of questions...
I'm sure I'll think of more questions later...can you tell my runs are shorter this week and I have time on my hands...
Looking forward to meeting everyone!
- Is a get together prior to the race planned? If so do you mind if another first timer from Madras joins in?
- A shakeout run on Sunday morning was mentioned...Michele is that still happening?
- I'd like to purchase a jacket or something but I'd prefer to try it on rather than ordering online. Will there be a good selection at the expo on Saturday morning? (I promise not to wear it till after the race. )
- I'm not a fan of big events but is the pre-race dinner something you'd recommend just because it's part of the Boston experience?
- Same question in regards to the post-race party?

- A shakeout run on Sunday morning was mentioned...Michele is that still happening? Yes, 9:30 am from City Sports run by McMillan Running but all are welcome, and I'll be there.
- I'd like to purchase a jacket or something but I'd prefer to try it on rather than ordering online. Will there be a good selection at the expo on Saturday morning? (I promise not to wear it till after the race. ) Saturday morning should be fine.
- I'm not a fan of big events but is the pre-race dinner something you'd recommend just because it's part of the Boston experience? We are going to the Pasta Dinner as it is not bad and part of the experience. Never been to the post race thing.

Re: Boston Marathon 2015
I won't be able to track our runners, this year, as much as I'd love to do it. Anywho, good luck to y'all!

Thanks Michele
I'd love to meet some of you so I'd be interested in a get-to-gather sometime before the race if anyone else in interested. I don't think I'll finish in time to meet up afterwards. I don't know the area/options very well so don't feel qualified to organize anything.

Re: Boston Marathon 2015
Shall we plan on our traditional meet up at the Food Court in the Prudential Center Mall (it is where the Expo is at the Hynes Convention Ctr - same mall) on Saturday at say 4:30 pm????
Re: Boston Marathon 2015
sounds good to me. we might need to contact some of these people via FB since they don't visit very often.Michele \"1L" Keane wrote:Shall we plan on our traditional meet up at the Food Court in the Prudential Center Mall (it is where the Expo is at the Hynes Convention Ctr - same mall) on Saturday at say 4:30 pm????

I don't like the weather forecast that I just saw. There is a very good chance I'm going to get wet before I finish. I live in sunny Central Oregon. I've never had to run in the rain! Oh well, I'm not made of sugar. I guess I'd rather have the rain than hot temperatures.

A little rain isn't so bad, Nancy. It can help keep you from overheating. It might actually help.

Re: Boston Marathon 2015
my bigger concern is the wind. 8-10mph from E or SE. Ugh - that will make for slower times and the effort greater. But this can change quickly.Mark B wrote:nkrichards wrote:I don't like the weather forecast that I just saw. There is a very good chance I'm going to get wet before I finish. Yes...my forecast indicates winds at 12mph when the 4th wave starts and 16mph by the time I finish. As you said things may change quickly.

Re: Boston Marathon 2015
Wind, what's a little wind - it was 50+ mph on the Verrazano Bridge in November - thought I was going to blow over the side, and the wheelies had to start at mile 3. Of course, it is New England and the weather can/will change right up until the gun is fired. (I am glad though that I ran a half marathon in 50s and rain in March).
