Re: Your Week in Training Mar 24 - 30
Rough week - maybe due to the two hilly faster runs/races in back to back weekends.
Mon - Day off, massage. Back hurt more after the massage than before
Tue - Easy 5 mile Recovery run
Wed - 6 miles in cold (37F) and wind. Not the weather I expected in Atlanta
Thu - 20.5 miles. Started at 10 am ran an extremely hilly course that started and ended with 8.5 miles on a trail. Weather at the start was in the mid-50s but when we finished 3+ hrs later it was in the 70s. Dehydrated and discouraged. Thought of Charles and Jerry and soldiered on.
Fri - Easy 3 miles shakeout run
Sat - Atlanta Woman's 5K - didn't race but did run two women from the training group I ran with last week through their first sub 30 5Ks. Final time: 26:55. Went to visit with Jerry.
Sun - 11 mile Fast Finish long run. Ran first 5 with the group at 10:30 pace and then did the last 6 with Jody at 8:38 pace. Better run to dedicate to Charles
WTD: 48.6 miles

Re: Your Week in Training Mar 24 - 30
disaster has struck. either i have anterior tibular tendinitis or a stress fx. ran only 45 miles last week before I shut it down on Thursday and only ran 19 this week including 8 on the Alter G. Was going to get a bone scan yesterday but I'm on a flight to Germany on Monday and the radioactivity of the test won't be gone by the time I need to go thru international security areas so..........I wait until next week and hope for the best. PR probably shot for BOS, so might be sub 3:00, just trying to get to the start line at this point.
Good news: Madeline ran a 35 minute PR today at the Ann Arbor Marathon in 3:52:54. Am real proud of her. A long way from having 3 ACL replacements. 27 degree morning, a bit of wind and a real hilly course. I paced her the last 10k and blocked the wind as much as I could. Could have another Boston girl in the family sooner or later. We'll see.

I'm really sorry to hear this. You had something similar last year if I remember right, maybe a week of rest will make it go away for when you come back and get tested, I really hope so.

Re: Your Week in Training Mar 24 - 30
Spent the last nine days on a Disney World vacation (4 days of that was driving ). When my wife asked everyone what the best part was for them, I said, "That I got all my runs in." We walked 5-8 miles each day in Disney as well.
This Hanson plan doesn't taper much, I will probably do a normal week this week and then add some taper next week as my body is really beat up from running (no complaints, I'm glad I missed almost no workouts).
Mon - 5 miles
Tue - 12 miles with 4 miles then 2 miles at Hanson tempo
Wed - weights
Thu - 12 miles with 10.5 miles at MP
Fri - 6 miles
Sat - 4 miles
Sun - 17 miles - very difficult, last minute decision to do this in the morning before we finished our drive back.
Week - 56 miles
YTD - 685 miles
