Sounds like rugged fun, though I can't imagine how weather could factor into it -- unless you get ice. Go for it!

We had thunderstorms all day yesterday that went into the night/early morning hours. I am not running in lightning...

Re: The "In Between"
Despite the sprinkles/drizzle this morning, I made my way out for hill repeats at the crack of dawn. Quarter mile up quarter mile down at 4 times each (up and down). Felt good to get back to hill repeats, as it has been quite a while since I completed them. Overall, I finished them at a 5:44 pace for the the ups and downs. I will probably move to 5 up and 5 down next week.

Of course the Brewers won while I was at the game, in fact, they won today in walk off fashion to take the series with the Pirates

Re: The "In Between"
This afternoon I got in a good 4.40 miles at a fairly easy 7:35 pace. I am not sure I like this El Niño thing...it's 54 degrees half way through May...Just horrible...

7:46 was the overall pace for Saturday's 6.26 miles. A great run on a great day...things are feeling good. After my run the girl and I went to the farmers market. Madison has an awesome farmers market that goes all the way around the capital square.

Re: The "In Between"
Another great run today on a warm morning. Middle 60s and abundant sunshine as I completed 12.03 miles. I worked up a good lather as the final 4 miles are the most sunny. Overall, my pace was 7:55. Which is 10 seconds per mile faster than I had ran last week. I felt good and did not think that I put in any more effort than last week's run. This means that my fitness level is starting to come around...and just in time as training is starting oh so soon...

You're making great progress, Nick. You're showing great patience, or at least self-discipline, as you build yourself back up. Good job!

You know Mark, that is one ting that I have always been good at. I seem to be patient and know when to not push my body/training. I know that if I keep at it, the results will be there in the end!!

Your lack of baseball talk the last couple days is conspicuous by it's absence. Just sayin'.

Re: The "In Between"
Maybe if I talk about baseball it will jinx those red hot Brewers. Of course, I live in the city where they are hoping Johnny Manziel fixes everything, so don't go by me. The Tigers are looking damn great though so I think they will have quite a party in Cleveland these next couple of days. My daughter and I went to the game on Friday night to see our ace give up a grand slam and three run homer all in the same inning - at least we sat in the free food section.

I really like seeing how your training is coming along. Based on your runs, I see a really good training cycle ahead for you.

Re: The "In Between"
So my talk of baseball had the Brewers lose and the Indians beat the Tigers in 10 innings. Maybe I need to continue to discuss baseball

Michele, you can try to do some mojo on the LAstros to see how good you really are.

Re: The "In Between"
I finally got to wear a singlet in 2014 when I wasn't racing. The temperature was 86 degrees at 5pm when I started my run. As I started running, I knew that the run wouldn't be the greatest. My legs felt a little sluggish, but I am guessing that its from not being acclimated to warmth yet and partly due to putting in a good couple of weeks of running to get back into the swing. I ended up getting through the 4.21 miles and at a surprisingly 7:49 pace. Less than a week to training...

Re: The "In Between"
Ha, no! But I did 5 in the rain after my 5:50 am core class. Braves and Indians won - so all is good.
Re: The "In Between"
Up and at'em early this morning, as I set out for some hill repeats. I was planning on doing 5, but with the way I felt during yesterday's run, I decided to only keep it at 4. Better safe than sorry. I was pretty tired this morning, so I thought that the repeats were going to suck. The results, though, say different. I did 4 down and 4 up at an overall pace of 5:41. This is actually a little faster than when I did them last week Gotta love progress...

Re: The "In Between"
Did an easy 3.5 last evening as I am easing my way into training, which starts Monday. I took tonight off and went to The World's Largest Bratfest. Bret Michaels played on the main stage. Man he is old!! Up early tomorrow for a six mile run and then the farmers market with the girl...goodnight
