Three Column Layout Empty Three Column Layout

Post  KBFitz Fri Jun 28, 2013 8:35 am

Hey Matt,

I would like to weigh in on three column format you recently adopted [1. Social Bookmarking / Polls; 2. Forum; 3. Latest Topics / Top Posters].

I normally run my browser in a window so I don't take up all the screen real estate. Three columns rather than the prior two stretches the view so that I either need to go whole screen or scroll horizontally often to see the whole page. As such the recent format does not sit well with me. I would much prefer that you go back to the standard two column format. To do so you may move Social Bookmarking / Polls to the right column, above or below Latest Topics.

That's just my user feedback on this change. I really like what you've done with the site overall -- it's really kickin' now as well as looking good ... sans this one aspect.

Suggest you wait a few days and see if others weigh in or not.

Cheers - k

Two columns would work better for me, as well. Having modules on both sides of the heart of the page increases the visual clutter. Putting them all on the right, as Kevin suggests, might work better for those of us who are more easily distracted.

I am fine with the three columns, or two, or one...

How about taking out the middle column?  Or just whenever I post something.
