Re: help ITB!!!
My first suggestion would be to find someone that does Graston. There are a couple sports medicine doctors in my area that rely pretty heavily on Graston. With graston, you should see improvement immediately with little or no loss of training and could be fully recovered in a very short time period. Warning that with Graston, your leg will be black and blue from the treatment.
If you don't have any luck with locating someone that does Graston then I would recommend someone that does ART (Active Release Therapy).

Re: help ITB!!!
Also, do hip/glute exercises like clams and side leg raises with a theraband. This link might help you as it helped me:

Re: help ITB!!!
Either heavy deep tissue massage and/or Graston as mentioned might do the trick. Either will hurt a lot when it is being done, but I have found that they do wonders for ITBS.

Than you all for the help... i have been doing the exercises all day yesterday! Will continue! Going for a long run this afternoon. Have any of you had the cortisone injection? The doctor said that i should never again have problems with my itb, i had it 5 days ago, and im not so sure.. i know that you in the americas are way more advanced with your treatments and that we can learn plenty from you.

I've heard mixed results with respect to the cortisone injections. They work for some.
Best of luck, I know how important it is to keep your training up while dealing with these issues and I hope it all goes well for you.

Re: help ITB!!!
Is your pain at the knee or the hip? I've seen and heard of good results during racing using a Cho-pat IT strap that wraps just above the knee and stablilizes it. Not a cure, but more of a symptom bandaid.
Cho-pat IT strap
Maybe others can chime in on this.
