Best of luck to all of you in a spot of bother -- and it seems there are quite a few of us this season. Michele has been dealing with an achilles issue. Chris Coleman pulled both psoases... Ouch! [I had to look it up.] fostever has had to step back (if I'm not mistaken) and JohnP's knees are complaining. Take your time to heal fully. You know I will.

Mon: 4M @7:54
Tues:Slept In.
Wed: 6M @8:00
Thur: 13.1 in 1:22:29 (Atlanta Half) 6:18/mile [Was supposed to be a pace workout that went astray...5M in 30:09 is not Marathon Pace!]
Fri: Shopping for New Flats after deciding I didn't want to run 13 more miles in my A5 next weekend - Bought Nike FlyKnit Racers
Sat: 10.5M @7:27
Sun: 10.3M @7:59
Week: 44
YTD: 2,127
Overall a terrible training cycle - struggling with tight calves ; one week till Vegas, then some rest .

Re: Your Week in Training Nov 19 - 25
Trying to get back into the swing of things after weeks of distractions...
Mon: 5 miles barefoot in a rain storm
Tue: Rest
Wed: 3.1 miles easy in new testers
Thu: Turkey Day! Lots of driving
Fri: Rest
Sat: Rest
Sun: 6.9 miles
Total: 15 miles
Hope to start easing the distance up over the next several weeks. Not that I'm training for anything, but it'd be nice to have a better base if I get inspired.

Re: Your Week in Training Nov 19 - 25
week basically off due to my knee telling me it wasn't happy about the marathon 2 weeks ago
M 3
T 1 (half mile run, half mile walk/limp back home with severe left knee pain)
W-Sat rest
Sun 5
I'm having surgery tomorrow that is going to put me off running (not running related but will affect it) so probably no running this week or maybe the next as well and maybe that's for the best since my knee really does need to completely heal.

Add me to that list, Kevin. Left knee flared up after a series of hamstring--->quad--->knee--->quad issues. Off the feet and on the bike for the time being.

Re: Your Week in Training Nov 19 - 25
Wow, it looks like a bunch of us just need to heal up. Kev - good luck with that ankle, Gobbles - take care of those calves as those are what got me into trouble, missed you on Thursday, Steve - take care of your calves and stuff, JohnP - take care of your knees. Good luck with the surgery tomorrow, Julie - I am having surgery tomorrow as well - so a bit of karma for both of us. No, it is not my achilles, but old lady stuff.
Last week before forced time off:
Mon - Easy 5 with striders
Tues - Drive to Atlanta
Wed - Easy 3 with old running buddies
Thurs - Atlanta Half Marathon - 1:50:35. Ran the first half with friends and then left them. Finished faster than I expected (although still 8 min slower than last year, but pretty good for a bum achilles and other woman's issues). 14th in my AG
Fri - Easy recovery 3.
Sat - 6 hilly miles with old running group
Sun - Drive back to Cleveland
Total: 30.1 miles
YTD: 1521 miles Not bad considering that I missed 8 wks this summer and will probably not run again until after Christmas.

Re: Your Week in Training Nov 19 - 25
I hope Julie and Michele's surgery went well. My training echoed Kevin's training - zero miles. I have a PT appt today for evaluation on the knee. I did some cross training Thursday and Friday and was surprised how high my HR got with simple spinning so I know I need to get some more rest.
