13 miles...Midweek 13 miler...another easy run tonight. Right now it feels like I am just running to run. Not exerting a lot of energy and just enjoying being one with the run (oh crap...I just sounded like Kenny ). Anyways, I completed 13.47 miles at a 7:37 pace.
being one with the run?!?!?!?!?!? What have you done with Nick, please bring him back, ok?
Nice stretch you are going through right now. Keep up the great work.
Thanks Joel...all of the miles must be going to my head...

I would say so, especially when you have 30+ miles on tap for the weekend. Those miles are going to pay off though.

Hope your weekend running goes well! Sounds like a tough 20 after the 13. I hope the weather is cool.

Whew, 13-20? Never done that before during a marathon cycle. I could never push myself past 10, mentally, knowing I had 18/20/22 the next day.

It's actually not as bad as it sounds. I have done it the last couple of training cycles. I actually have a 14/20 scheduled this cycle, as well.

13 miles...It almost felt like racing season as the thermometer hovered at 50 degrees when I set out for my run at 7 o'clock this morning. I decided to take it pretty easy this morning, knowing that I have 20 miles to run tomorrow. So, I put it in cruise and easily went through my miles. I completed 13.41 miles at a 7:41 pace.

20 miles...My third 20 miler of the cycle this morning and second in a week. Last week I ran a conservative 20 at an 8:04 pace, so this morning I decided to push it a little harder this morning. The first half went very well, with an average pace of 7:56. The second half of the run went even better. I had negative splits the entire second half of the run and finished my last mile, mile 20, at marathon pace (6:59). I absolutely killed this run this morning. I completed 20.32 miles at a 7:47 pace!!! my average heart rate was a very low 136. I hate to admit it, but this run was pretty easy. I little harder than last week, but by no means did I over exert myself.
Weekly Total - 63.96

Wow! You're going to have an awesome marathon. How many more weeks? I'm sorry if I missed it, but did you create this training program yourself?

Thanks Julie!!! 8 weeks left, so still some time for more improvement. As for the training program, yes I did create my own. It is a modification of my previous training programs. I did add a few more miles and difficulty with this one. Hoping that it pays off

7 miles...Another 7 miles tonight in fall like temperatures. I am thinking that the upper 50s weather put a spring in my step, as my legs just took off from the beginning of the run. I decided to just go with it, as long as I didn't push myself, knowing that tomorrow is an off day. I ended up completing 7.55 miles at a 7:19 pace. I really felt like I didn't push myself at all...it feels good to be getting fast again

12 miles...An easy 12 miles on a beautifully cool morning. I completed 12.37 miles at an easy 7:31 pace. My average HR was at a low 138. Looking back at the last couple of years, never have I been able to run 12 miles at a 7:30 pace with such ease. I love it...I am ready for my first big test next week, as I look for a new HM PR at the Fox Cities Half Marathon...Bring it on!!

4 mile recovery...Recovery run on a cold and windy fall like evening. I completed 4.30 miles at an 8:08 pace. A little faster than my normal recovery runs, but I am also getting a little faster, too. A pretty easy week lined up this week, as I am running the Fox Cities Half Marathon this coming Sunday. My big fitness level test.

What pace does your marathon need to be to BQ? You're doing very well! Have fun at Fox Cities! I have recommended the marathon to friends even if it wasn't a great race for me, I have no complaints about the course or organization (just the drunk hotel neighbors).

BQ pace is 7:03, but I am shooting for 7:00. I like the half marathon and have ran the course so much, that I think I could do it in my sleep. The weather is supposed to be cool this year. That only means fast times

Re: 21 Weeks to a BQ
That's kind of how I feel about Lincoln Marathon and the half. I've run the half 3x and the full 2x here and just in general know the streets so well. It's kind of nice but sometimes I like to branch out and get another pin for my 50 states map.
