Nice job on the double. How do your legs feel after the doubles? Good luck this weekend, that is a lot of miles.

Thanks Joel...My legs are a little heavy and my entire body is a little fatigued. So hopefully today will help me recharge

Sounds like the rest day came at the right time then...it should do the trick.

9 miles...My legs (and body) seemed to bounce back nicely after my scheduled off day. Nice morning for a run with temps in the low 60s, a far cry from a couple of weeks ago. Pounded out 9.37 miles at a 7:50 pace. 18 LSD tomorrow morning...

18 mile LSD...18 miles this morning, which is the longest run that I have had since last fall. I decided that all I really wanted to do is get the miles in and not worry about pace. In, fact I had to pull on the reigns a few times to slow myself down. I stayed pretty consistent all the way through the run, with my fastest mile coming at 8:01 and the slowest at 8:10. Everything else was in between...Overall it was a great run, but I did start to really fatigue the last mile and a half, although my haverage heart rate doesn't show that (maybe it was more mental fatigue than physical). I completed 18.33 miles at an 8:05 pace with an average heart rate of 134. I still can't believe how low my heart rate was. Last week's 136 was the lowest of this cycle until today. I crushed it...
Weekly Total - 57.83

3 mile recovery...My calves were a little tight when I woke up Monday morning, but as the day went on, things started to loosen back up. The recovery run is always one of my most difficult training runs, because it means that I need to go slow. My goal was to keep my pace between 8:30 and 9:00. I ended up completing 3.11 miles at an 8:39 pace. I managed to keep it within my range, but it was difficult...

6 miles...Six miles tonight. Not much to say about the run, but that I put in my work and did it conservatively. I completed 6.26 miles at an easy 7:53 pace.

Looks like everything's going well for you to get your BQ. Now for the weather to cooperate on race day.

6 miles...Six miles last evening, as I plug along with my schedule. A pretty decent run last night and I can tell that I am getting faster as the pace is picking up with out any extra exertion of energy...even with warm temps. I completed 6.27 miles at a 7:42 pace...Scheduled off day today before a 29 mile weekend that sees my first 20 miler...

9 miles...I slept in a little this morning, as I went to a Mat Kearney concert last night (awesome show by the way). Nice and easy 9 this morning. I didn't want to push it as it was later in the morning and starting to get hot. Plus, I have my first 20 miler tomorrow morning. I completed 9.37 miles at a 7:50 pace...Tomorrow should be fun

20 miles...First 20 miler of the training cycle. With temps in the lower 60s to middle 60s the entire run, it almost felt like an early fall run. It's a far stretch from the summer that we have. The run itself went very well, especially for the first 20. I kept the first half pace very conservative at 8:15, but finished out the second half with negative splits. I started felling fatigue over the final mile, but it was also my fastest mile at 7:57. I ended up completing 20.11 miles at an 8:09 pace, with an average heart rate of 137. Very happy with the run and my week of training, but also happy that this next week is a step back week
Weekly Total - 54.47

great work! We got a cold front Saturday and actually had really nice weather this morning for once so it was a decent enough 20 miler.

Unscheduled off day...I was scheduled to run 10 miles, but had something come up that prohibited me from running. I adjusted my schedule and will move my off day and run 10 on Thursday.

10 miles...Little shift in my schedule this week, which means that my 10 miler was mmoved to tonight. Let's just say that I felt good this evening. So much, that I put away all of my conservative training and just ran. And ran I did...The pace was the fastest that I have ran this training cycle, yet the effort did not seem to be too stressful. The 5th mile was at marathon pace (7:00). I completed 10.30 miles at a 7:22 pace and felt awesome afterwards. It's nights like tonight that are big confidence boosters. Of course, I will be going back to my conservative training tomorrow...
