The hottest marathon
I am curious in recent years, which marathon was the hottest unexpected one? Let's limit it among the ones we are familiar with.

Re: The hottest marathon
If you mean that no one knew it would be hot? or like Boston, we were somewhat forewarned, but no one believed it to be true? The other day is the hottest marathon I have ever run from start to finish including Maui. I ran Georgia, Madison, and Drake Well in high temps, but not 87F+ at the finish as all three races started in the early am with Maui starting in the dark. Boston '03 was warm, but I was not in nearly the shape I am now nor did I execute well.
I'm betting Chicago '07 tops the list for unexpected.

Yes, like Boston or Chicago, that typically is not warm.
Well, maybe not Chicago.

Re: The hottest marathon
Well for me lets see it's pretty easy:
1. Chicago 07
2. Boston 12
3. Chicago 08
4 Chicago 10
5. Chicago 11
Boston 07 was really cold, windy and rainy so since Boston was so hot this year I'm going with the feeling Chicago will be awesome weather this year!

For me it is:
#1 Chicago 2010
#2 Steamtown 2011
Chicago 2009 was 32 degrees at the start and Twin Cities 2008 was 52 and rainy.

It looks like a mass exodus from Chicago 2012, but I'll be there and it'll be splendid! It's all about the cycle!

So glad that I picked 09 to run Chicago!
