Re: Your Week In Training, March 19-25
Catching up for last week… Coming of last weeks solid week of training, with a solid 5K on Saturday and 21 miles on Sunday, this week went pretty well; albeit not special. Considering that my training has gone so-so, the 1/2 Marathon result was OK.
March 12 – 18th
Monday – 6 Easy
Tuesday - 10 - AM 4 Easy / PM 6 Easy with 1 min on/off
Wednesday – 14 Easy
Thursday – 10.3 – AM 4 Easy / 6.3 Easy
Friday – 8.6 Easy
Saturday – 6.2 Easy
Sunday – 14 Miles / Georgia 1/2 Marathon: 1:21:20 (2 soft crashes)
Week: 69 miles
My soft crashes at the Georgia Marathon set the note for this week. Never really got in a groove, Tuesday’s 400’s were pretty good (1:17~1:12), but the 800s felt tough (2:40). Ran the toughest and hilly 5K, that was knowingly long (@3.25) with ~200 feet of climb (equal descent), I won Overall in 18:50, by close to 2 mins. I let up a little during the last mile, but probably couldn’t have run much better than 18:30 on that course, that day, if my life depended on it…
March 19 – 25th
Monday – 6 Easy
Tuesday – 16.1 – AM 10 Track with 400s & 800s / 6 Easy
Wednesday – 18.1 – AM 4 Easy / 14 Easy
Thursday – 12.6 – AM 4 Easy / 8.6 Easy
Friday – 8 – AM 4 Easy / PM 4 Easy
Saturday – 15.9 – WU: 3.2, 5+K Race (1st OA), CD: 9.5
Sunday – 15.4 Easy
Week: 92 miles
March 12 – 18th

Re: Your Week In Training, March 19-25
Here was my week. Training for 24-Hour race in June continues unabated.
Mon - 10 @ 6:44
Tue - 16 @ 6:40
Wed - 15 @ 7:15 (hill repeats)
Thur - 15 @ 7:02
Fri - 15 @ 6:58
Sat - 50 @ 9:56 Ran out-and-backs from my house using my front porch as my aid station. Setup a cooler with drinks and food and just went 2.5 out and 2.5 x 10. Had some friends keep me company for the first ~20 miles, which helped me keep the pace at ~10:15. However after everyone left I had trouble keeping the pace in the 10s. Even had some miles in the 8s once I hit 32 miles. The sun came out in the last ~10 miles, which made the last 5 mile kind of rough. Thinking I need to do better with hydration and salt tabs if it's warmer for the 24 hour race, which is likely since the race is in June.
Sun - 12 @ 8:05
Total Miles Week: 133
Total Miles YTD: 1,392

Umm, that is certifiable, and qualifies for institutionalization.
That is more determination than I think I will ever have.

And so are you! Seriously. And Don, I can't even seem to hit 70 miles in a week without breaking down - incredible and impressive. And I agree with Mike - impressive weeks out there both for those posting here and those that don't. It is a great time of year to be a runner!
