How 'open' should this site be?

Should anyone be allowed to register as a member, or should it be by invite only or through a 'screening' process? Thoughts?

I think it should be an open site and not just an invite only but I do think that there should possible be some type of screening process. Then it is hard to say I mean I can see it be an invite only so then there is control on who is on the site and people are held accountable but then again if we want the site to grow outside of us just inviting people that would be cool but that also brings problems and issue that could be hard to deal with.

What do you think Matt?

Yeah the spamming would not be good and I guess that is were I was going with my post. See I should have been a lawyer like Dave and would just get to the point!

Letsrun.com got spammed really bad a couple of days ago.

Open is always better. The policy can be changed when issues rise. I doubt a running forum will ever attract that much traffic unless we get Chas back.

I'm good either way. As of now, anyone can register and they are automatically approved. If that's okay with everyone, it's okay with me...
